Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 2+ years in specialty License: Active state RN license or Compact State license required Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: Experience with charting system Meditech Description: Local candidates are welcome. First-time travelers are accepted. Block scheduling may be discussed during the interview. Weekends are required every other week. Call is not required. Floating may be required as needed within scope. Orientation will include training on specific charting systems and protocols. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Daily census on the unit averages 16 patients. The unit comprises 19 rooms and beds. Interdisciplinary support includes various services such as physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Common patient diagnoses in this unit include pneumonia, sepsis, COPD, diabetes, and hip fractures. Experience with specific procedures and care protocols is advantageous. Knowledge of managing central lines, IVs, and feeding tubes is essential. Familiarity with administering blood products and oxygen is preferred. Skills in telemetry and managing dysrhythmias are required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to maintain high standards of patient care in a dynamic environment.
