Job Title: Inpatient Care Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 2 years in specialty required License: Active state license or Compact state license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Charge experience - Patient ratio experience 5:1 - Charting system experience, Meditech preferred Description: Locals are allowed. First-time travelers are accepted. Block scheduling will be discussed during the interview. Weeksends are required every other week. Floating may be required as needed within scope. Certifications needed include BLS. Nursing staff should have the ability to manage multisystem medical conditions. Responsibilities include administering medications and treatments as prescribed. The daily census is approximately 16 patients with a total of 19 beds. Unit support includes services from physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Nursing staff are required to approach individual patient care with compassion and professionalism. Knowledge of dealing with diverse patient diagnoses is essential, including COPD, diabetes, and sepsis. This role demands teamwork and adaptability to changing conditions within a medical-surgical nursing environment. Candidates should be prepared for a dynamic working environment with a focus on quality patient care.
