No involvement from unit management is required. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4/5 during days and 1:5/6 on nights. Charge nurses do not take patient assignments. Moderate oxygen needs are managed on the unit. Self-scheduling and block scheduling are allowed. Full and part-time employees must self-schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts within a six-week period. Holiday scheduling is also required. Floating may occur based on department needs. RN's are required to read their own telemetry strips. The unit utilizes Philips telemetry systems. Nurse aides are available with a ratio of 1:12. The charting system used is EPIC. Cancellation of shifts may occur based on facility needs.
