# Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse – Tennessee

Schedule: Four weekend shifts per four-week scheduling block; nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
Highlights:
- 36-bed medical-surgical unit specializing in post-operative and complex medical care
- Patient population includes wound care, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, stroke, seizure management, dialysis, and PCA pumps
- Post-operative procedures include amputations, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, oral surgeries, and wound vacs; only drip medication is Heparin
- Equipment includes PD Cyclers, Welch Allyn VS Carts, Hoyer Lifts, Broda Chairs, and Alaris IV Pumps
- Documentation system: Meditech EMR
- Unit support includes daily secretarial staff and PRN technicians
Requirements:
- Current Registered Nurse license in Tennessee
- BLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Ability to perform basic patient assessments and general care including wound management, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, stroke and seizure care
- Adherence to dress code: Navy, blue, white, black, gray, or ceil blue scrubs
- Commitment to patient experience standards including bedside shift report, safety checks every 1-2 hours, and focus on communication and responsiveness
- Compliance with 100% medication scanning, HAI prevention protocols, fall prevention, and attendance policies
