Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse – Tennessee

Schedule: 36-bed unit; 1:4 or 1:5 patient ratios; 4 weekend shifts per 4-week block; may float over core staff
Highlights:
- Medical-surgical unit specializing in post-operative care including amputations, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, oral surgeries, and wound vacs
- Experience with tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, stroke, seizure patients; some patients require dialysis or PCA pumps
- Heparin drips; peritoneal dialysis cyclers and Alaris IV pumps utilized; Meditech documentation system
- Strong unit support with secretary coverage daily and PRN techs; experienced charge nurses and responsive leadership
- Patient experience focus on bedside shift report, frequent safety checks, communication, and responsiveness
- Collaborative, energetic team environment with supportive leadership and equal accountability standards
Requirements:
- Active Tennessee RN license or eligibility for compact licensure
- Current BLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Medical-surgical nursing experience with ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments
- Proficiency in wound care, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, and chest tube management
- Experience with post-operative patient care and stroke/seizure management
