Start Date: October 26, 2026

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Contract length 13-26 weeks | Every other weekend required | Call required if called off on pre-scheduled shift

Highlights:

  • Specialized oncology unit caring for patients receiving chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments
  • Comprehensive onsite training and support for ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Administration certification
  • Free access to oncology education courses as part of the Cancer Institute, many applicable toward CEUs
  • Patient ratio of 1:6 in a 42-bed unit with general medical-surgical and oncology patient populations
  • 24-hour orientation period (2 shifts) with supportive interdisciplinary team
  • EPIC charting system and Pyxis medication management

Requirements:

  • Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of registered nurse experience in an inpatient setting
  • ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Administration certification preferred, or willingness to obtain certification prior to or during assignment
  • Experience with chemotherapy administration and monitoring, accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management
  • Proficiency in colostomy care, surgical drains, chest tubes, wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions, and medication administration including heparin and insulin
  • EKG/dysrhythmia interpretation skills; must pass EKG testing prior to start date
  • Willingness to float to similar units and alternate care locations including ED inpatient holding areas
  • Availability to participate in storm team/hurricane team assignments and emergency response as required
