Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical.
This role involves providing care to patients with various diagnoses, including congestive heart failure, hypertension, and chest pain work-ups.
Candidates should be comfortable managing COPD exacerbations, asthma, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure.
RNs in this position are required to titrate medications such as analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives.
A charge nurse will be available on the unit, and they may take an assignment.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4, with support from nurse aids at a 1:5 ratio.
Self-scheduling is permitted, and full-time and part-time employees must schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts in a six-week period.
Holidays are also included in the scheduling requirements.
Floating to other departments may be required based on needs.
The unit utilizes the EPIC charting system.
Candidates must hold BLS and ACLS certifications.
Knowledge of NIHSS is essential for this role.
