Description:
This position requires a strict 75-mile radius rule.
The nurse will be working in a unit with a ratio of 1:6 for nurses.
Nurse aides will generally be at a ratio of 1:8 to 1:10.
Occasional 1:1 patient care and use of sitters may occur.
The weekend requirement is every other weekend.
On-call responsibilities are low during census.
Holidays will be rotated with permanent staff.
Scrub color is Caribbean Blue.
Patients will be monitored on different units for telemetry.
Vents include BIPAP and CPAP, utilized only at night.
Additional team support includes Pharmacy 24/7.
The role may require floating to various other departments.
Nurses should be aware of common diagnoses in a Medical-Surgical setting.
Nurses must be prepared for charting using MEDITECH.
