General unit information includes a telemetry, medical surgical, and trauma focus.
The unit has a total of 33 beds and a staff of 55.
Staffing includes a charge nurse, unit secretary, registered nurses, and patient care technicians.
Patient ratios are typically 5 to 6 patients per nurse.
Equipment used includes EKG machines, code carts, vital sign machines, vascular Doppler, wound vacs, interpreting services, and bedside monitors.
The electronic medical record system used is Meditech.
Typical procedures performed on the unit include small incision and drainage, peritoneal dialysis, and infrequently thoracentesis.
Ideal candidates should have strong patient focus and a high-energy, positive attitude.
Dress code includes navy scrubs with no cotton jackets.
