Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical care. The shift consists of three 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. Charting experience with EPIC is required. Weekend work is required, with the possibility of every other weekend or six weekend shifts in a six-week schedule. All requests for time off must be included upfront. The facility may cancel one shift every two weeks. The nurse must be able to work one holiday during the 13-week contract. First-time travelers and local candidates are accepted if they meet the residency criteria. Pending licenses are accepted for candidates holding a single-state license from a non-compact state. The unit has a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6. The unit cares for adult patients, including those with elective back surgeries, trauma, prostate cancer, gallbladder issues, and cellulitis. Flexibility to float within the skill set may be required. Charge nurse duties and precepting may also be required. Interdisciplinary support includes various teams such as IV, Physical Therapy, and Rapid Response Teams. The work environment is a private, not-for-profit, general acute care teaching hospital. The facility has been recognized for excellence in nursing practice for over twenty years. Candidates must uphold the facility's policies regarding holidays and compliance documentation.
