Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $1,917 per week in Wilmington, NC

Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week. Every other weekend required. Patient ratios 1:5-6. Floating to similar units as needed.

• Contract duration: 13 weeks with 36 or 48-hour weekly schedules available
• Robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, lift teams, and pharmacy

Requirements:

• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med-Surg/Telemetry experience within the last 5 years
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Proficiency in heparin drips, PCA, colostomy care, feeding tube management, blood product administration, central line care and management, peripheral line care, phlebotomy, PICC line management, IV starts
• Experience with dysrhythmia management, oxygen protocol management, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions, traumatic brain injury, ortho trauma, surgical drains, chest tubes (Emerson/Pleuravac), tracheostomy management, and wound care
• Must be comfortable with 1:5-6 patient ratios
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Preferred Qualifications:

• ACLS certification
• Experience with interpretation of dysrhythmias, pre/post hemodialysis management, drip management, CVA, pre/post neuro surgery, and spinal cord injuries

Contract staff will be assigned to Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters. Up to 7 days of time off may be requested (no holidays during requested time off). Clinicians must work 2 of 3 major holidays. Please note that requested time off after booking is not permitted, and schedule changes may result in contract cancellation.
