Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care as a float nurse, with unit assignments determined by nursing supervisor based on staffing needs
  • Rotate across a variety of acute care units including medical, surgical, oncology, orthopedics, neurology, cardiac, pulmonary, vascular, trauma, and observation
  • Deliver care in settings ranging from medical comfort care and GI/surgery to cardiac surgery and joint replacement/ortho
  • Accurately document all patient care activities using Cerner EMR
  • Maintain patient-to-nurse ratios that typically average 1:6, adjusting as needed based on unit demands
  • Complete required orientation modules and annual specialty-specific training as directed by the onsite Nurse Educator
Required Qualifications
  • Active, unencumbered Tennessee RN license or valid compact (multi-state) RN license - must be in hand at time of submittal; pending licenses not accepted
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a comparable acuity hospital setting
  • Cerner EMR experience required
  • Must be available to work every other weekend
  • Block scheduling is not available for this position
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Prior float pool or multi-unit experience in an acute care environment
  • Exposure to a broad range of specialties including trauma, oncology, neurology, or cardiac surgery
  • First-time travelers may be considered for this position
