The unit is comfortable with floats. Weekend requirement includes 5-6 shifts per contract duration. Contract staff may be assigned to work during catastrophic events. Daily patient diagnoses include general medicine, with a focus on neurology. Staffing ratios are 1:6. The facility utilizes specific systems for medication, documentation, and communication. Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting. Patient age groups served include adults and geriatrics. The unit involves interdisciplinary support teams for comprehensive care. Experience with NIH and neuro is preferred but not mandatory. In order to enhance patient care, teamwork is essential in this unit. Willingness to learn the charge nurse role is appreciated.
