This position is for a Registered Nurse in a medical surgical unit specializing in the care of patients with neurological disorders.

There is also a significant population of patients undergoing spinal surgery, including post-operative care for neuro-surgery, orthopedic surgery, laminectomy, and spinal fusion procedures.
The unit features six step-down/telemetry beds and six bariatric beds to accommodate a diverse patient population.
Additionally, there is a four-bed neuro monitoring area designated for patients who experience seizures, starting from age five, to determine the cause of their seizures.
The nurse will be responsible for patient care under safety protocols and within designated staffing ratios.
There is a likelihood of nights being staffed with 4 or 5 RNs unless otherwise indicated.
Charge nurses will carry a patient load commensurate with staffing levels, with ratios varying based on the number of RNs present.
The use of equipment such as EPIC and Pyxis is required for patient care documentation and medication administration.
