Schedule / Job TypeContract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Days, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM | Expected 48 hours/week | 3 weekend shifts per month required
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct medical-surgical nursing care on a 20-bed Transplant Nephrology unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
- Collaborate with unit secretaries, PCTs, and a unit educator to deliver coordinated patient care
- Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
- Support kidney transplant and renal patient populations; dialysis is coordinated off the unit
- Float to other units as needed per facility policy (contract nurses float first)
- Partner with virtual nursing staff who handle patient admissions, allowing bedside nurses to focus on direct patient care
Required Qualifications- Active RN license (ADN minimum)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
- Experience in medical-surgical, nephrology, renal, or related care settings
- Ability to commit to 3 weekend shifts per month
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience with kidney transplant patients
- Familiarity with dialysis patient care and renal disease management
- Previous travel nursing experience
- Proficiency with Meditech or similar electronic health record systems
