Schedule / Job TypeContract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Days, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM | Full-Time
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed 4th floor Neuro/Med-Surg unit using a team nursing approach with tech support
- Maintain patient ratios of 6-7:1 and deliver care in accordance with facility policies and unit guidelines
- Perform hourly safety rounds and conduct bedside shift report with patients
- Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
- Work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with permanent hospital staff; expected to complete 4 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period
- Float to like units as staffing needs dictate
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in South Carolina or a compact state
- Minimum of 2 years of Med-Surg nursing experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required (may be obtained on-site)
- Proficiency with Meditech or similar electronic health record systems preferred
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior experience on a Neuro or stroke-designated unit
- Familiarity with team nursing models and charge nurse collaboration
- Experience with standard Med-Surg equipment and procedures
