Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care on a 44-bed orthopedic unit, maintaining a patient ratio of 1:5 (max 1:6) during both day and night shifts
  • Manage and monitor patients with chest tubes, Hemavac drains, wound vacs, JP drains, PCA pumps, and Foley catheters
  • Perform drain removal and coordinate PICC line placements in collaboration with the Infusion team
  • Document patient care accurately using the Meditech EMR system
  • Utilize mobility equipment and patient lifts to ensure safe patient handling
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including a patient-free charge nurse and PCTs
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license valid in the state of Colorado (or compact eligibility)
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of current acute care hospital orthopedic experience
  • At least 2 years of overall nursing experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Orthopedic and/or trauma background strongly preferred
  • Medical/surgical experience is acceptable and welcomed
  • Positive, flexible, and collaborative personality well-suited to a fast-paced unit environment
