Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct inpatient nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including stroke/TIA, seizure, syncope, pneumonia, chest pain, CHF, sepsis, acute kidney failure, respiratory failure, encephalopathy, and post-heart catheterization
• Deliver care on a stroke and TIA-focused inpatient unit with a strong emphasis on patient experience, maintaining a staffing ratio of 1:6 on nights
• Administer and manage medications using the Omnicell medication system
• Perform and support specialized procedures including peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation
• Float to other units and/or campuses as needed based on census and demonstrated competencies
• Complete required pre-assignment modules and annual compliance requirements within designated timeframes

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Tennessee
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry setting; first-time travelers are not eligible
• Minimum 1 year of recent EPIC EMR experience required
• Must live more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates residing 50-99.9 miles away may be considered at a reduced rate for this night shift specialty

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for stroke, TIA, or higher-acuity medical-surgical patient populations
• Familiarity with peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation procedures
• Prior travel nursing experience in an inpatient setting
