Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Work every other weekend as part of the standard schedule
  • Participate in on-call rotation as needed; when required, on-call coverage applies to the first 4 hours
  • Float within scope to like units or sister facilities to meet staffing needs as required
  • Document patient care and clinical information using Epic electronic health records
  • Be aware that during hurricane season (June-November), contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry RN experience
  • Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact RN license (candidates with a pending SC license may be considered with proof of application; clearance to work requires an active SC license)
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required
  • Proficiency with Epic electronic health records required
  • Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates within 60 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Previous permanent or PRN staff must have been separated from the facility system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • NIHSS certification preferred
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Experience working in a 300+ bed acute care hospital environment
