- Weekly Pay:$1,870 to $2,070
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, and patient-centered nursing care to medical-surgical patients
- Perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments and monitor patients for changes in condition
- Monitor vital signs, pain levels, oxygen saturation, intake and output, and other clinical indicators
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, antibiotics, and prescribed treatments safely
- Manage IV lines, central lines, drains, catheters, wound sites, and other patient-care devices
- Provide wound care, dressing changes, catheter care, and post-operative nursing care
- Monitor patients with acute and chronic medical conditions and identify potential complications
- Recognize changes in patient status and promptly communicate concerns to physicians and other healthcare professionals
- Assist with admissions, transfers, procedures, treatments, and discharge planning
- Provide pain management and evaluate patient responses to medications and interventions
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, recovery, and discharge instructions
- Promote fall prevention, infection control, mobility, nutrition, hydration, and overall patient safety
- Respond appropriately to rapid responses, emergencies, and code situations
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, CNAs, case managers, therapists, and other members of the healthcare team
- Support continuity of care and effective discharge planning
- Follow facility policies, HIPAA requirements, infection-prevention standards, and medication-safety procedures
- Participate in quality-improvement and patient-safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Oklahoma Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience
- Current BLS Certification required
- Current ACLS Certification preferred or required based on facility requirements
- Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing practices
- Experience caring for patients with multiple acute and chronic conditions
- Strong medication-administration and IV-therapy skills
- Experience with patient assessment, wound care, and post-operative care
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)
- Strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple patient-care needs effectively
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Comfortable working night shifts
