Unit Information:
Med-Surg Unit has 24 beds and a staff of 7.
Staff includes day shift (1 charge, 4 nurses, 2 PCTs, 1 unit clerk) and night shift (1 charge, 4 nurses, 2 PCTs).
Patient ratios are 6:1.
Typical procedures performed on the unit:
PIV insertion/management/removal
Central line management/removal
Foley insertion/management/removal
NG insertion/management/removal
Drain management/removal
Wound care and ostomy management
Continuous bladder irrigation
Chest tube management
EKG
Machines and equipment used on the unit include:
