The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:6. There is a unit secretary available during the day. Patient care technicians (PCTs) are present to assist. An educator is also available on the unit. The unit uses the Meditech documentation system. Three weekend shifts per month are required. There are no on-call requirements for this position. Agency or contract nurses will float first if needed. Patient experience is a priority on this unit. Procedures on the unit include med/surg care, while dialysis is performed off the unit. The dress code requires royal blue scrubs, though black scrub pants are allowed. Teamwork is recognized through a specific award.
