Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 0645-1915; 36 or 48 hours per week accepted; every other weekend required

Highlights:

• Adult and geriatric medical/surgical unit with a daily census of approximately 43 patients
• 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, and rapid response teams
• Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management; 24-hour orientation provided
• 13 to 26-week contract assignments available; first-time travelers accepted
• Charge nurse role preferred for night shift; experience with heparin drips, wound vac management, and high-flow oxygen
• Standard medical/surgical acuity without PCU-level patients; occasional short-term BiPap with respiratory support

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of medical/surgical nursing experience
• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Epic charting experience required; must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Proficiency with telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV management, and wound care
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Ability to work holidays and weekend rotation as assigned
• Willingness to serve on Inclement Weather/Storm Team as required

• Navy scrubs required (not provided by facility)
• Up to 7 days of time off may be approved (no holidays); must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Pre-start online modules (8-10 hours) must be completed before assignment begins
