Description:
Requirements include a minimum of 2 years of experience in the specialty.
This position handles patient diagnoses such as orthopedics, including total hips and revisions, total knees and revisions, shoulders, spine, general surgery, and overflow medical-surgical cases.
A maximum of 7 days' request time off is allowed.
Every other weekend coverage is required.
Floating within the facility and to sister campuses may be necessary.
The patient population consists of adults to geriatrics.
The unit utilizes the Pyxis system, EPIC for charting, and SBAR for communication.
The staffing ratios are generally 1:5-6.
Full compliance with onboarding requirements is mandatory for timely start.
If compliance is not met, the start date may be pushed back by 2 weeks due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule.
If hired, the employee will be expected to work on one major holiday during their assignment period.
If two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the employee must work both holidays.
If three major holidays fall during the assignment period, the employee is required to work two of the holidays.
Major holidays are Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.
Charting system experience is required.
Previous charge experience is preferred.
The daily patient census is approximately 22.
There are 24 beds available in the unit.
Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary.
RTO policies must be finalized at submission, with all requests for time off or scheduling finalized prior to offer or onsite.
Compliance documents are due prior to the start of the assignment.
Modules required for onboarding are non-billable.
All modules will be documented via transcripts.
