Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit with night shift ratios of 1:5
• Serve as Charge Nurse as needed — charge nurse capability is required for this role
• Administer blood products and manage peripheral line care, including starting IVs
• Provide care for patients requiring heparin and insulin management, total joint replacement recovery, and colostomy and feeding tube care
• Utilize isolation precautions and respond with Rapid Response Teams as appropriate
• Float within the hospital or to an affiliate facility as needed to meet patient care demands

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license or pending MN licensure (must initiate MN license application upon offer acceptance)
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience
• BLS certification required
• Proficiency with Epic (Excellian) electronic health records
• Experience with blood product administration, peripheral line care/management, and IV starts
• Experience with heparin and insulin management, total joint replacements, nasal cannula, oral suctioning, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks, and isolation precautions
• Child and adolescent patient competencies required
• Must live more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Med Surg/Telemetry or Telemetry experience preferred
• Experience with Rapid Response Teams preferred
• Colostomy care, feeding tube care and management, and ACLS certification preferred
