Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $1,851 per week in South Charleston, WV

Opportunity to work at a large acute care teaching hospital (838 staffed beds) affiliated with the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH), offering a dynamic and clinically rich environment. Provide direct patient care on a full telemetry floor serving pulmonary, cardiac, medicine, and med/surg adult and geriatric populations (16 monitored beds).

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a full telemetry floor serving pulmonary, cardiac, medicine, and med/surg adult and geriatric populations (16 monitored beds)
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry with support from centralized monitoring and a telemetry technician
• Maintain a patient assignment ratio of 1:5
• Float within scope of practice to other units as needed
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner electronic health records
• Participate in orientation (held every other Thursday) and adhere to unit scheduling expectations including every other weekend

Required Qualifications

• Active WV RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending license accepted at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Cardiac Telemetry / Telemetry experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 - March 31); medical exemption accepted with documented allergist or physician record
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; candidates between 75-100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Level IV Trauma Center or major teaching hospital environment
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records
• Experience caring for geriatric and adult pulmonary or cardiac patient populations
