Description:
Minimum experience of 1 year is required.
First-time travelers are accepted.
Patient population includes adults to geriatrics.
Skills and knowledge required include isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac, nasal cannula, high flow nasal cannula, chest tubes, starting IVs, PICC line management, blood product administration, feeding tube care and management.
The patient ratio is 1 nurse for every 6 patients.
The unit has 32 rooms with an average daily census of 29.
Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary.
All nurses are expected to work one major holiday if it falls during their assignment period.
If two major holidays fall during the assignment period, nurses are expected to work both.
If three major holidays fall during the assignment period, nurses are expected to work two of the holidays.
Compliance to onboarding requirements is essential to start on time.
All compliance documents must be completed by the specified deadline.
Modules will be completed during orientation and are recorded via transcripts.
No time off requests can be made during orientation week.
Maximum time off allowed is 7 days.
Holiday-specific time off requests may not be allowed based on the holiday count during the assignment.
Nurses must be willing to float within the facility as needed.
This position requires compliance with all health and safety regulations.
