Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Med/Surg License: Active nursing license in good standing (with compact if indicated) Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred, current NIH certification required annually Must-Have: Telemetry experience, post-Percutaneous Coronary Intervention experience Description: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical care. The unit has 46 beds with a patient ratio of 6:1. Staff includes Clinical Nurse Coordinators, RNs, LPNs, PCTs, Nurse Externs, and Unit Clerks. Equipment used on the unit includes GE Apex Pro Telemetry boxes, Hoyer lifts, Baxter IV pumps, and Welch Allen Vitals machines. The documentation system utilized is Meditech Expanse. Scheduling requires working every other weekend and three 12-hour shifts per week. Candidates may float to different units based on staffing needs. We focus on patient-centered care and strive for excellence in service delivery. Candidates must possess general Med/Surg skills, EKG interpretation, CPAP management, and port access. Preferred skills include experience with chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vacs, drains, post-dialysis assessments, and blood transfusions. Procedures performed on the unit include telemetry monitoring and paracentesis. The dress code requires navy blue or gray scrubs with specific guidelines for scrub jackets and long sleeve shirts.
