The facility has 355 beds and offers specialized services across various medical fields. It includes a brain center, cancer center, heart center, lung center, orthopedics, and others. The emergency department has 32 beds, the inpatient rehab unit has 29 beds, and there is a 15-bed surgical suite. There is also a behavioral health hospital on the campus. The unit comprises 18 beds with a patient ratio of 1:6. Equipment used includes Baxter IV pumps, SCD machines, Kangaroo feeding pumps, and PCA pumps. The electronic health record system utilized is Cerner. The supervisor oversees an adult and geriatric medical-surgical patient population. Common diagnoses and treatments include COPD exacerbation, GI bleed, diabetic complications, wound care, pancreatitis, sickle cell crisis, end-of-life care, falls, weakness, sepsis, and infection. Candidates should possess strong teamwork and patient advocacy skills. This is a busy floor requiring the ability to keep up with patient care demands.
