Description:
Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols.
Implements and monitors patient care plans.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
This department serves adult patients and has telemetry capability.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6.
Support is provided by Patient Care Technicians and a Healthcare Unit Coordinator.
Utilization of virtual sitter monitoring is available as well as monitor technicians to observe telemetry patients.
