Travel RN – Medical/Surgical (Ortho/Spine)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Expected 48 hours/week | Weekend commitment required (4 shifts per schedule)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on an Ortho/Spine unit with a 6:1 patient ratio across a 26-bed unit
- Care for patients undergoing knee and hip replacements as well as multi-level spine surgeries
- Operate and monitor unit-specific equipment including CPMs, SCDs, coolers, and walkers
- Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic health record system
- Collaborate with unit secretaries, PCTs, and Navigators to support patient experience goals
- Participate in unit float rotation as needed per staffing policy
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in the state of Tennessee (or compact eligibility)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a Medical/Surgical or Orthopedic setting
- Strong orthopedic background required
- Demonstrated compassion and teamwork skills
- Ability to meet a 4-weekend-shift-per-schedule commitment
- Navy scrubs required as dress code
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience with orthopedic post-surgical care, including joint replacements and spine surgeries
- Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
- Experience working in a high-acuity ortho/spine unit environment
