Description:
Orthopedic Registered Nurse needed for a medical-surgical unit.
The unit accepts first-time travelers.
Patient care ratios are 1:5-6.
Weekend requirements include every other weekend.
Floating within scope may be required based on facility needs.
The unit features 30 beds, primarily focused on orthopedic and spine care, with medical overflow.
Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, and respiratory services.
Key skills include managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP, blood product administration, and interpretation of arterial blood gases.
Experience with total joint replacement and traumatic brain injury is preferred.
The candidate will be responsible for patient assessments, care planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Wound care and management of surgical drains will be part of the role.
The RN will utilize telemetry for patient monitoring as required.
