Description:
This position is for a Med/Surg Orthopedic unit.
The unit accepts first-time travelers.
Patient demographics include adults and geriatrics.
The unit has a daily census of approximately 30 patients.
We maintain a patient ratio of 5:1.
Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services.
Required nursing skills include management of orthopedic trauma, total joint replacement care, and wound care.
Knowledge of isolation precautions and non-invasive airway management is essential.
Recent Epic experience (within the last 6 months) is a requirement.
Assistance with acquiring NIHSS certification is available.
Daily responsibilities will involve comprehensive patient care, including pre/post-surgery support and medication administration.
Staff support includes patient care technicians and patient transporters.
