Description:
This is a Med Surg nursing position.
The unit has 30 beds with a patient ratio of 1:6.
There are 2-3 techs available per shift along with a clinical coordinator, charge nurse, manager, and director.
Type of equipment used includes wound vacs, heparin gtt, suction, IV pumps, glucometers, bladder scanners, feeding pumps, and telemetry.
The documentation system utilized is Editech.
Scheduling requirements include no guarantee of block scheduling.
Every other weekend and holiday rotation is expected.
Staff may float between two designated units.
A positive attitude is essential to meet the needs of patients and families.
Service recovery should be performed as necessary, with problems escalated through the chain of command.
The dress code requires navy scrubs, with no fleece or sweatshirts.
Unit-specific policies and guidelines should be adhered to.
Recognition programs include I heal cards from patients, employee points awarded, colleague-to-colleague recognition, the Daisy award, and the Bee award.
