Description:
The unit accepts first-time travelers.
Charting will be performed using Epic.
Weekends are required.
Floating may be required to like units based on facility needs.
Daily patient census averages around 8.
Patient ratios are generally 6:1.
The unit specializes in the care of adults and geriatrics.
Key patient diagnoses include sepsis, pneumonia, wound care, detox, CHF, and post-op patients.
Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, rapid response teams, and pharmacy.
Special equipment includes telemetry, continuous pulse ox, Kangaroo pumps, and bed alarms.
Wound care is among the special procedures performed on the unit.
Travelers will receive a brief orientation on the unit.
Modules are completed onsite during orientation.
All hours are factored into the average calculations.
