Candidates must have a minimum of 6 months of experience caring for medical surgical patients.
Description:
The unit consists of 20 beds with a staff of 15.
Staff includes day shift RNs and patient care technicians, as well as night shift RNs and patient care technicians.
Patient ratios are typically 6:1.
Equipment used includes Mobilab and Baxter pumps.
The electronic medical record system is Meditech.
There are no on-call requirements.
Staff may float to other medical surgical telemetry level of care departments as needed.
Typical procedures performed on the unit include peripheral IV insertion, NG tube management, dressing changes, and central line management.
The ideal candidate is friendly and loves to build relationships with the team.
Collaboration is encouraged, and the unit is committed to a supportive clinical operations team.
There is 24/7 rapid response nurse coverage available for any critical issues on the floor.
