- 6 months of experience caring for medical surgical patients.
Description:
Unit has 20 beds and a staff of 15.
Day Shift RNs and Patient Care Technicians, Night Shift RNs and Patient Care Technicians are present.
Patient ratios are 6:1.
Equipment includes Mobilab and Baxter pumps.
Electronic Medical Record system used is Meditech.
There is no on-call requirement.
Floating may occur to other Medical Surgical Telemetry level of care departments.
Candidates with the following skills will be considered first:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Charge nurse experience.
- Advanced medical surgical certification (MSRN).
Typical procedures performed include:
- Peripheral IV insertion.
- NG Tube management.
- Patients on telemetry monitors.
- Dressing changes.
- Central line management.
