Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our busy 19-bed Renal Med-Surg unit specializing in the care of patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, post-dialysis needs, and complex medical-surgical conditions. This high-acuity unit manages a diverse patient population requiring continuous monitoring, frequent assessments, and multidisciplinary coordination. The ideal candidate is confident in managing renal-related complications while thriving in a fast-paced environment with high patient turnover.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult renal and medical-surgical patients
- Manage patients with acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, and post-dialysis needs
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry
- Collaborate with nephrologists and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Float as needed within scope to similar Med-Surg units, including Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Cardiac, Observation, and ED boarders
Qualifications
- Active Ohio RN license (required at submission)
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 3 years of recent Med-Surg and Telemetry experience (renal experience strongly preferred)
- Proven ability to independently read and interpret telemetry strips
- Competency test required on Day 1; failure results in immediate contract termination
- Epic EMR proficiency (mandatory, no training provided)
- Lack of Epic proficiency results in immediate termination
