Job Opportunity – Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) RN – New York
Start Date: October 13, 2026
Location: Upstate New York

Schedule: Four 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) with every other weekend rotation. Patient ratio of 1:2, with occasional 1:1 assignments based on acuity.
Highlights:
- 16-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit with diverse, complex case mix including sepsis, ARDS, multi-organ failure, cardiac arrest with targeted temperature management, and advanced mechanical support
- Work with advanced critical care technologies including CRRT, ECMO, Impella, IABP, and EKOS
- Epic charting system with 24 hours of comprehensive orientation
- Minimum 2 years of critical care nursing experience required; first-time travelers welcome
- Must reside more than 75 miles from facility; pre-approved time off available
- Float opportunities within the system; comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory therapy, rapid response, and pharmacy
Requirements:
- Active New York RN license in hand at time of submission (required)
- Minimum 2 years of critical care nursing experience
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Epic charting experience (required)
- Experience with 1:2 patient ratios in critical care settings
- Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, arterial line management, central line care, continuous IV sedation, titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, and ABG interpretation
- Skills in pulmonary artery line monitoring, CVA/stroke management, massive transfusion protocol, IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, and management of patients with acute kidney injury and renal failure preferred
- Must be available for more than 10 days of requested time off during assignment
