Certifications: BLS, ACLS
Must-Have:
Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment.
Must have the ability to read and interpret telemetry strips.
Experience with Epic charting system is required.
Traveler will be required to float as needed to support the nursing care team.
Must be available to work every other weekend and holiday.
Travel experience preferred.
Description:
The position is for a registered nurse in a fast-paced, high-acuity ICU.
Targeted patient ratios are 1:2-3.
The unit involves bedside procedures such as endoscopy, bronchoscopy, trach and G-tube placement.
Nurses frequently recover patients immediately post-operatively.
Special equipment utilized includes ICP monitoring, arterial lines, and BIS monitoring.
The patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
Common diagnoses include respiratory failure, sepsis, and head bleeds related to trauma.
The unit is supported by interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
Nurses will be fitted for N95 masks prior to working in the specialty unit.
Candidates must be comfortable floating to different units based on their skill set and census requirements.
No special requests or restrictions will be accommodated for floating.
A maximum of 14 days of requested time off is allowed, with no schedule requests or time off negotiated after an offer is made.
