Description:
Responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients.
Work with a predominantly multi-system failure population with co-morbid conditions.
Common diagnoses include sepsis, pneumonia, GI bleed, and organ failure.
Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:2 during night shifts.
Must work every other weekend and holiday.
Approval for time off is required.
Experience in charge nursing is preferred.
Previous experience with arterial line management, central line care, and ventilator management is essential.
Manage continuous IV sedation and monitor central venous pressure.
Implement infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions as necessary.
Administer blood products and manage patients undergoing dialysis.
Assist with advanced procedures such as intubation, central venous catheter placements, and chest tube insertion/removal.
Maintain accurate documentation and charting using the designated electronic health record system.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Participate in emergency response and rapid response teams as needed.
Promote a safe and therapeutic patient environment.
Adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
