Description:
This position is for a Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) role focused on adult patients.
The unit has a capacity of 20 beds.
The patient population includes individuals with various critical diagnoses, such as substance abuse, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock.
Healthcare providers, including attendings and residents, are present in the ICU 24 hours a day.
Telemetry competency is required for this role.
The RN to Patient Ratio is typically 1:2 or 1:1 with high acuity, and 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to other Medical/Surgical areas.
Rotating shifts will be required for day positions, which may include various shift timings when necessary.
Night shifts do not include rotation.
Pre-employment requirements include certifications in BLS and ACLS.
