    Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Expected 36 or 48 hours per week | Block scheduling option available (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon)

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a fast-paced orthopedic, neuro spine, med-surg, and post-surgical unit with an average daily census of 37 patients
    • Manage pain effectively for orthopedic and spine patients, staying proactive with pain assessment and intervention
    • Perform IV starts and telemetry monitoring as routine components of patient care
    • Care for COVID-positive patients on the unit as applicable, as patients are no longer cohorted to a dedicated COVID unit
    • Float to other med-surg units within the facility as needed to meet staffing and census demands
    • Work every other weekend as required; any weekend call-off must be made up on a subsequent weekend
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license – NC state or Compact license required
    • Minimum 2 years of RN experience with orthopedic nursing experience required
    • BCLS certification required
    • NIH Stroke Scale certification required
    • Must pass EKG testing prior to start
    • Proficiency with IV starts and telemetry monitoring required
    • First-time travelers considered with Epic EMR experience
    • Local candidates are welcome; note that a local rate applies for candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility
    • No RTO requests permitted after booking; holiday RTO cannot be approved; no RTO during the first week of assignment
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • ACLS certification
    • Charge nurse experience
    • Level I Trauma experience
