Travel RN – Telemetry / Med Surg (Float Pool)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13+ weeks | Full-Time | Days, 3x12s (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Every other weekend and holiday required | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Float Pool (Surge) setting, floating across multiple units as needed
• Deliver telemetry and medical-surgical nursing care to acute care patients with a focus on cardiac monitoring
• Maintain safe patient ratios averaging 1:7 in a 495-bed Level II Trauma Center facility
• Utilize EPIC EMR for all documentation and patient management (required)
• Adhere to weekend rotation requirements (every other weekend) and holiday scheduling policies

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license – Virginia State License or Compact License required
• ACLS certification required (AHA only)
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Telemetry / Med Surg experience with demonstrated cardiac experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required; no block scheduling will be accommodated
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2+ years of Med Surg Telemetry experience at a higher acuity level
• Experience floating across multiple units in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Familiarity with cardiac patient populations and telemetry monitoring
