Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on an adaptive acuity Med Surg/Telemetry unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
- On occasion, provide Progressive Care Unit (PCU) level care at a 1:3 ratio — this is non-negotiable and may not be refused
- Administer and manage IV drips including insulin drips, esmolol drips, and sodium drips
- Serve in a Charge Nurse capacity as required — charge duties are mandatory for this assignment
- Float to any inpatient unit within scope of practice as needed
- Participate in holiday coverage, including required working blocks around Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
Required Qualifications
- Active Vermont RN License or Compact RN License
- Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification
- Active American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS certification
- Minimum 2+ years of current Med Surg/Telemetry experience
- Charge Nurse experience required — candidates without charge experience will not be considered
- Minimum 3 months of previous travel nursing experience (non-negotiable)
- Must have reliable personal vehicle for this assignment
- Current Skills Checklists for PCU, Med Surg, and Telemetry (within the past year) required at submission
- One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years of employment required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience — strongly preferred
- ICU experience — strongly preferred
- Previous experience in a small critical access facility setting
- More than the minimum required travel nursing experience
