    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Neurology Focus)

    Spokane, WA | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Every Other Weekend Required

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a neurology focus, maintaining a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
    • Perform and interpret NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) assessments as part of routine neurological monitoring
    • Care for post-surgical neurology patients and patients with varied neurological diagnoses
    • Float between units within the facility as operationally required
    • Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
    • Commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license required; Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
    • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
    • Neurology nursing experience required, including comfort with the NIH Stroke Scale
    • Experience caring for post-surgical neurology patients
    • Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible as a traveler (locals accepted at a different rate)
    • 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required prior to start
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience in a Short Term Acute Care, Level II Trauma, or Teaching Hospital environment
    • Proficiency with Epic charting platform
    • Familiarity with telemetry monitoring in a neurology or medical-surgical setting
