Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a 49-bed Cardiac/Medical Telemetry unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
Interpret and sign telemetry strips at least once per shift; monitor patients with cardiac and medical diagnoses including CHF, CVA/TIA, post-cath, respiratory conditions, GI issues, and diabetes
Manage patients on set-rate drips (e.g., Diltiazem/Cardizem); titration of drips is not required
Operate and monitor respiratory equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, and administer breathing treatments
Float as needed to an East Campus location and potentially to a PCU setting if qualified
Adhere to a self-scheduling model across 4-week schedule blocks, including 2 weekends per 4-week schedule and holiday coverage requirements
Required Qualifications
Active RN license in good standing
BLS certification required
ACLS certification required
Must pass a dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to contract signing
Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Must not have been employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience reading and interpreting basic telemetry strips
Prior experience with CVA and TIA patient populations
Total joint replacement nursing experience
Familiarity with Cerner EMR (strongly recommended given limited orientation time)
