    Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

    Contract | Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a 49-bed Cardiac/Medical Telemetry unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
    • Interpret and sign telemetry strips at least once per shift; monitor patients with cardiac and medical diagnoses including CHF, CVA/TIA, post-cath, respiratory conditions, GI issues, and diabetes
    • Manage patients on set-rate drips (e.g., Diltiazem/Cardizem); titration of drips is not required
    • Operate and monitor respiratory equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, and administer breathing treatments
    • Float as needed to an East Campus location and potentially to a PCU setting if qualified
    • Adhere to a self-scheduling model across 4-week schedule blocks, including 2 weekends per 4-week schedule and holiday coverage requirements
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license in good standing
    • BLS certification required
    • ACLS certification required
    • Must pass a dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to contract signing
    • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
    • Must not have been employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience reading and interpreting basic telemetry strips
    • Prior experience with CVA and TIA patient populations
    • Total joint replacement nursing experience
    • Familiarity with Cerner EMR (strongly recommended given limited orientation time)
