    Job Title

    RN – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

    Location

    Philadelphia, PA | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Days | 3×12-hour shifts | Expected 36 hours/week | Monday through Friday; scheduling pattern may include weekdays and/or weeknights based on coverage needs

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide inpatient-level nursing care to admitted patients boarding in the Emergency Department while awaiting transfer to an inpatient bed
    • Manage a patient ratio of up to 4:1, caring for patients who may require telemetry monitoring, IV medications, post-procedural care, or general medical-surgical needs
    • Support patient safety, throughput, and continuity of care during periods of high hospital census
    • Collaborate with ED physicians, hospitalists, ICU teams, and inpatient services to coordinate patient care
    • Operate within the ED boarder care model; may be required to temporarily provide care in another unit within clinical competency if departmental or organizational needs change
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
    • Recent inpatient medical-surgical experience required

    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with telemetry monitoring and post-procedural patient care
    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
    • Strong communication skills with interdisciplinary teams
    • Demonstrated flexibility and commitment to patient safety and quality care
