Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient care across multiple inpatient medical-surgical and step-down units as part of a float pool assignment
- Adapt quickly to varying patient populations and unit workflows while functioning independently with strong clinical judgment
- Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 on standard Med/Surg units, with potential variation based on unit acuity and staffing needs
- Accurately document patient care activities and adhere to medication safety protocols in accordance with facility policies
- Rotate every other weekend as part of standard scheduling requirements
- Remain available to work shifts surrounding designated holidays as required
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience; new graduates will not be considered
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Current BLS certification
- Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Strong proficiency with EPIC electronic health records system
- Ability to float between multiple inpatient units, including medical-surgical, step-down, and ED med/surg hold areas
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Current ACLS certification
- Current TNCC certification
- Prior float pool or multi-unit nursing experience
