Key Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care on a fast-paced, 45-bed medical/surgical trauma unit serving hemodynamically and medically stable patients admitted from the emergency department, transferred from the ICU, or admitted from surgical/procedural services. Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care on a fast-paced, 45-bed medical/surgical trauma unit serving hemodynamically and medically stable patients admitted from the emergency department, transferred from the ICU, or admitted from surgical/procedural services
• Manage acute and chronic needs of trauma patients, including administration of IV drips (required on all floors)
• Document patient care and assessments using EPIC electronic health records (required)
• Float within scope to meet facility staffing needs across various units and campuses as directed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams including CNAs, care techs, transport teams, paramedics, and LPNs where assigned
• Meet weekend and holiday requirements: expected 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period (Friday night and Saturday night for nights); expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)

Required Qualifications

• Active or pending Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska (pending license accepted; if not in hand at time of submission, start date will be scheduled approximately six weeks out)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting required
• Proficiency with IV drip management required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center (may be considered in lieu of prior travel experience for first-time travelers)
• Familiarity with trauma or acute medical/surgical patient populations
• Ability to adapt quickly in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment with frequent floating expectations
